I’ve taken the time to ask a few people, what is an Ordained Minister? No one has ever had a quick answer but overall they seem to think that an Ordained Minister is this devout, sober and overly spiritual individual. My first thought is how uninviting that sounds, how quickly would you want to approach someone who fits that description? Truthfully, I’m not eager to approach Overly Spiritual individuals I know in the ministry right now.
Yes. Yes, I am an Ordained Christian Minister. I simply accepted the call of God. I can’t remember the day or time I accepted the call of God because it was a slow process. A very slow process. I’m the girl who would like to work in the back room and build the computer, not necessarily the girl at the front desk working on the computer as she greets everyone. I’ve been that front desk girl and I’m good at it but I prefer that back room position instead. It’s not about what I want though, it’s about what God wants. God equips me in many areas so I am ready and able to do His work.
Ministers are not perfect beings. We should however be living lives based on the principles of God according to His Word. We all fall short but no man or woman of God should be living a life of continuous known active sin. Romans 6:1-2 KJV, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? There are those men and women who refer to themselves as living for God but practicing sin is very active within their lives, some spiritual leaders as well. Romans 6:16 KJV, Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? When many who are in error are given correction they say they’re being judged. John 7:24 KJV, Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. God’s word does the judging. 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Man is capable of failure, no matter how experienced they are in the Ministry. Proverbs 24:16 KJV, For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Titles are representative of a position in the Body of Christ. Yes, we have need of overseers but flesh is flesh and the only one we should be worshiping is God. Romans 2:11, KJV For there is no respect of persons with God. Give Spiritual leaders the respect their position deserves but remember they are human and not God.
The Call. 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 KJV, 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
I myself am not some holy superior wise being but a woman chosen by God to do a work for Him. He called and I not only answered but accepted His call. I’m striving to please my God and do His will according to His word. I can do all things through Christ, He strengthens me!
